Floating in splendid isolation in the Bay of
Bengal is the archipelago, of over 572 islands,
known as Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Stretched over an area of more than 700 kms,
these islands are covered with dense forests and
endless variety of indigenous and exotic flowers
and birds. These, along with silver-sandy
beaches on the edge of meandering coastline and
the excellent scope of water sports, diving,

Chattam
Saw Mill
A tiny island connected
by bridge over a stretch of sea water, this Saw MIll was one of
the oldest and biggest in Asia. It is a store house of rare
specimen of timber including Padauk, Koko, Chuklam, Marble and
Stain wood.

Museum
Set up by the Forest Department,
this museum displays the decorative places made of various types
of timber found in these islands.

The Zoological garden has some of
the rare species of animals and birds found in these islands and

Cellular
Jail (National Museum)
The Cellular Jail, now declared as
National Memorial is situated at Port Blair, the capital of
Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Its construction began in the year
1896 and was completed in 1906. Into this Horrid world were sent
hardened criminal and patriots who dared to raise their voice
against the British Raj.

Sagarika,
Cottage and Khadi Emporium
Display a variety of handy crafts made in mother of pearl and
local wood. Miniature Nicobarese Canoes and palm mats for floors
and tables are also available here. There are a number of shell
and wood craft unit interesting to see.

Ross
Islands
Once the seat of British power and capital of these Islands, it
stands now as a ruin of the bygone days with the old structure
almost in debris. A small museum named 'Smritika' holds
photographs and other antiques of the British's relevant to
these islands.

Corbyn's
Cove Breach
One of the picturesque sea beaches in the Island. It is ideal
for sea bathing. The panoramic view of the seashore will delight
the hearts.

Harbours
Cruise/Viper Islands
Harbour cruise provide a unique experience of cruise along the
harbour in a boat leaving from Phoenix Bay Jetty. The panoramic
view of seven points from the sea, harbour, the floating dock,
Viper Islands etc. are memorable.

Jolly
Buoy/Redskin Islands
Jolly Buoy offers a breath taking view of underwater coral and
marine life. Glass bottom boats help to take a closer look at
the coral colonies. Ideal for sea bathing and basking in the sun kissed
beach. The Redskin Island also offers the lure of underwater
coral gardens and unspoiled beaches. An occasional dolphin may
also be seen. A great place for swimming, scuba diving and
snorkeling.
